Chestnut Ridge at Rodale Hosts Clergy Open House

On Monday, September 23, 2019 Chestnut Ridge at Rodale hosted a Clergy Open House to provide blessings, and take a tour of the grounds and new model apartment.  The Rev. Dr. Alan Kramer-Moyer, former Director of Pastoral Care for Phoebe Ministries, and a future resident, gave the blessing and the Rev. Dr. Paul Knappenberger, pastor at St John’s UCC in Emmaus gave the benediction.  Rev. Dr. Scott Brooks-Cope, Director of Pastoral Care, and Scott Stevenson, CEO, shared their visions for the project. Musician Brian Jones immediately followed the speakers with his beautiful rendition of the song “Here I am Lord”.

Rev. Dr. Scott Brooks-Cope, explained “The Chestnut Ridge at Rodale clergy open house and blessing service was incredibly special as it was our opportunity to let the community know that we are connected to the United Church of Christ and our intention on this campus is to be faith-based while also being radically inclusive and welcoming to persons of all faiths or no faith.”

After the opening remarks and blessings, Rev. Jamie Moyer, Chaplain of Phoebe Richland, led the walking prayer through the grounds which ended at the new model apartment. Chestnut Ridge at Rodale sales staff gave tours and answered questions as guests mingled.

Thank you to all those who participated in this wonderful event!
